Sensory Deprivation

We were naked
Happy to have warm salt water
Fondle our bodies
She wanted to
& we did submerge ourselves
Entirely lithesome underwater

My muse then
Weightless & spreadeagled
In petals of heavenliness
She wanted to
& we did allow ourselves
The extreme purity of indulgence

We became
Our own subterranean muses
In that love swim
Of our wonderful lives

Noise & Fabrication

Don't become dowdy
Certainly not on my account
I'm not worth it
You deserve way better

My words are trapped
In previous relationships
Today's freshness & beauty
Is unable to penetrate the page

It seems far easier
To rely on what has gone before
To grieve over what can never return
To distort memories, with simple confusion

> One

In the one is carried by the other
Imagination, a thankful mother
Of critical interventions

A shared thigh, stroked high
Sought out over here
Whispered verse, nowhere terse
Floating here, about over there

Check-In

Surrounded by those
Who love me dearly
Yet it is the outsider
The one who
No longer loves me
It is she who opens me
She  is the one
Whose leverage prizes
These words from me
Hers is the warm skin
The fragrant bosom
Hers are the strong thighs
The thrusting passions
Hers are the memories
In the long-lasting juices
She is the obsession
Whose walls surround me
Hers are the reminders
Of Friday afternoon flights
Weekend-filled fantasies
Self-satisfied smug expressions

Dip

It was three hundred yards from the hilltop hotel
Down the sand and pebble path
To the white beach

Where I laid my towel, in a calm by the rocks
Also for the first time in my life
I cast aside the trunks

In this way then, entirely naked
Early, before anyone other was out and about
I entered the heavily salted sea

If to make love is to reach a peak of exultation
To become frenzied in search
Of a wilder you, then

To float naked in Fuerteventura’s morning seas
Is one of life’s gentler climaxes
Where love is caught

Between skin and water
Between open thoughts & drifting absence
Between love lost, and love found, where both flow free
