Most days I would try to write a poem; it is a practice, as I suppose is meditation, or smiling, or watching the world go by

Belief too brief
The Lincoln
By the cathedral
In Lincoln central
The registrar edges
As the concierge
Walks by
Pledges are snapped
With a smile
& a firm handshake
That idea of time
With time in hand
The explanations
Worked through
Thoroughly
Briefs well briefed
A confidence trick
Stick
To the resolution
The institution
Quivers
At recidivists
Procedures
