Mon Plaisir

I cannot drill down any deeper
Alone I am unable to magnify
The view; I do remember a window

The lane a little steeper, there
Was a garden & a small kitchen
With two colourful cockatoo

There were fields for potatoes
Before the long curved beaches
Yet out beyond the reaches

I was so often absent
Just as the image shows
I stayed out of focus

There were pedestrians
On the promenade, they
Sojourned towards the town

Did you wonder that I
Wondered on the hope of you
Always to know that my love

Would tie you, no, worse
Much worse by far
My love would let you down
