Most days I would try to write a poem; it is a practice, as I suppose is meditation, or smiling, or watching the world go by

Stasi
Your life as an addict - turned into the oncoming traffic
Your life with the didactic - turned into the oncoming traffic
Of addiction & art & poetry & death
Of subterfuge and sub-titles
Somewhere, somewhat more discrete
Of dictators & despots & sex & death
Of refuge and the triumph
Of reckless love over impending duty
Of imitators & writers & actors & death
Of subterfuge and sub-titles
Somewhere, sublime yet incomplete

Deep place mine
I do get lost
I am lost now
& this is the seventeenth time
that I have written this poem
So what is the cost
to rack and reason how
As we wake ourselves to sleep
what is between the now
And the abstinence
from the words I cannot keep
& this is the eighteenth time
that I have written this poem

London Bridge
I did not, do not
Want to be a suicide victim
I do not, did not
Want to be with a suicide bomber
It is of no matter
It is enough that you want her dead
Words of the play
Ring, run around, turn inside my head
Vomit on the pavement,
Fireworks in the sky
I did not, do not
Want to be a suicide victim
I do not, did no,t want to be there
For the victim of a suicide bomber
But hold my hand she said
With a dark and lonesome cry

Sparkle
Quiet winds,
you have moved on
left your silence in our minds
behind you
We listen to the chimes
the fairy lights sway
We wait for the rains to arrive
then to do their beating
Last years shutters are drawn
the carriages are called
It is the turn of the season
and a time for new departures
The door lock clocks another cog
we go our separate ways
I am once again in a mind to hurry
that it is the way; so it has to be
The hope that sought such
slight forgiveness
Weathered, without vane
it is priming up the band
The silent winds are waiting
by the sunlit softened sand
Once again, together my love
we mind ourselves to dance

Voices
by the simple stream
the swallow falls
The moment
if that is all it was
says one more goodbye
Yet
out of the reflection
a swoop is returned
The time
if it is still forever
hears the call of your name
