She chooses music to play on her stereo
I choose to write about you before you go
She chooses to kneel in bare feet
I choose your footprints in the wet sand
She chooses Aztec designs for her fabrics
I choose the gold reflection in your suntan
She chooses partly painted floors of blue
I choose turquoise as a reminder of you at your best
She chooses a ruffled simple cotton top
I choose to undress you to gently caress your breasts
She chooses to let her hair fall on to her shoulders
I choose to think of your hair held with a velvet slide
She chooses to reach right out with her left arm
I choose to think of you as you slowly draw me inside
She chooses to keep books beneath her sofa
I choose to cherish and posit those books you bought
She chooses music to listen to played on her stereo
I choose to write for you about you the you I caught
Most days I would try to write a poem; it is a practice, as I suppose is meditation, or smiling, or watching the world go by

On Reaching Calm
Roll a few balls of clay
Roll out a few strings of clay
Write words from a book
A present thus twice received
Type up your own notes
Of words spoken on the move
Words of love and life and you
Before all of this light the stove
Listen to Willie Nelson's Spirit twice
Let the wax melt to create an aroma
Of the seashore and the samphire
Warm the coffee on the hot plate read
From Soul Dust : The Magic of Consciousness
Take everything in or let everything
Float right on over immerse yourself
In you you and your outstanding life
Roll out a few strings of clay
Write words from a book
A present thus twice received
Type up your own notes

Sheen Of Metallic Black Sapphire
The fine mist drifts onto the polished painted metal surface
A new beginning
The mind sifts through the past experiences
Sincere in its request to find happiness
The millions of minute water droplets each find
Their own sense of space perspective and wholeness
Time and life itself can be counted by the growth
Of the quiet explosions of damp air piling onto the roof
All along indebted to another the brother
Of my consciousness lies on that waterproof plain
Stained by one fine drop followed by one fine drop
Followed by one fine drop
Followed by a few more lines of repetition
An expedition into the nowhereness of those few moments
Of ink on paper of pen in hand
Of car parked outside the hotel's spa complex
Egocentric lives on the song of slightly open windows
Thoughts of a vehicle to rebuild a life a style a purpose
A new beginning
The mind sifts through the past experiences
Sincere in its request to find happiness
The millions of minute water droplets each find
Their own sense of space perspective and wholeness

Silence
Gathered souls gathered today
Collected from many to gift away
On the breath of the leaf
That one petal afloat on the breeze
From one winter and towards one spring
Without noise nor neither disruption to leave
The silent flower from bud did begin
And out in the distance
She walks by moonlight and snow
Sending the photographs of absence
And the silence she hopes to bestow
And up in the dales
With dark skies and pours of rain
He catches the light neat light
With the silence of slight refrain
Gathered souls gathered today
Collected from many to gift away
On the breath of relief
Collected from many to gift away
On the breath of the leaf
That one petal afloat on the breeze
From one winter and towards one spring

Nature Nurture
Nature or nurture nurture or nature
Into the prefectures of downtown Japan
Stand by the fjords or out in cold Kazakhstan
Paper over the nurture if nature is your plan
The stature of Kingston or the doubt of doubtless Iran
To colour the picture of the Red Watering Can
Seen in the cinema with Freda and the gormless Ivan
Images of might stamp time on the floor
The door of peace nature nurtures no more
Score the key down the side of the limousine
Into the danger scream to ask o what does it all mean
Seen by the youth and by the old folk too to redeem
The present lean on the past at last in their slipstream
On the sea to a majestic boulder off the Isle of Skye
A column older than life where soldiers might lie
Don't go there it's colder but it's bolder to cry
Nurture by nature if nature or nurture you deny
Into the future or out onto the fairground rides
A land at the limit where the ice floats collide
Escape to the nature if on nurture you decide
Into the prefectures of downtown Japan
Stand by the fjords or out in cold Kazakhstan
