there is a love
which, quite simply
cannot be broken
this is the love
which yes and forever
will be softly spoken
there is a flower
which even in september
wishes to be open
this is the flower
which yes measure by measure
is a surefire lover’s token
Most days I would try to write a poem; it is a practice, as I suppose is meditation, or smiling, or watching the world go by
there is a love
which, quite simply
cannot be broken
this is the love
which yes and forever
will be softly spoken
there is a flower
which even in september
wishes to be open
this is the flower
which yes measure by measure
is a surefire lover’s token
ghost like black figures
with fluorescent silver outlines
as I reach the end
of my morning meditation
wherever you are
is wherever you are
with or without my being together
in ghost like black fluorescent silver
do you remember those boots
i don’t seem to have
a photograph
although the memory bank is deep
i remember you asked
could you ask something of me
would i be able to meet you
after your summer school
to spend a weekend together
of course you said
you would fully understand
if i was busy
if i couldn’t get away
to be with you
it is today
this vision of you
with mountains and clouds
out in the ocean
swirling and dancing
alive with joy
as a gift of love
to the whole of society
it is today
that i begin
a new presence on instagram
with a retrospective
of my series
of an image of a woman
beside a poem
with inspired connections
it is today
that i think
of the first of october
when my life
will take another departure
on my journey
through education
whatever that means
my head is alive
spinning you might say
from the land of dreams
on into meditation
all the while waiting to return
to the phd submission
is it time for academia
to loosen
its stranglehold on poetry
will social media gift the words
back to the masses
or will the bright shining stars
be consumed
by the machinery
of establishment and status
