Away For Winter

Closed hotel

Who is in your bedrooms

Who is in your entrance halls

Who last closed your last closed door

So you’ve gone to the Costa Brava

Gone from your silver-service

Gone from your waiting on

Who called your last, last orders

Would you mind if we stayed a while

Sleep quietly in your bedrooms

Hold hands along your hallways

Pick up the post from behind your door

We’ll send your cards to Costa Brava

We’ll always be at your service

We’ll not keep you waiting on

On those last nights without last orders

Eye Candy

Red stilettos

Right up to her thighs

My it’s nice

To climb so high

Why oh why

Its really nice to climb so high

Leather boots

Ermine for the firming

Foaming at the lips

Kiss her on the pips

By God it’s nice

To climb so high

Denim jeans

Fit and mean

Squeeze on back

Back to seventeen

My oh my, by the by

It sure is nice to climb so high

Mall Today

Dear diary

Went to the mall today

Me and Molly Flanders

Suspicion surrounded, swept over our every move

All as gone before

That’s gone before

All as gone

Gone that’s gone before

All as gone before

Gone that’s gone before

Masquerade, minuet

Pickpockets at the mall today

Johnny, Jenny, taking nickel’s, taking dimes

The punters never notice, even stand in line

Dear diary

Drew my dole today

Along with Francis of Assisi

Desperation descends, deepens every mood

All has gone before

That’s all gone before

Gone, all gone

All has gone

All has gone before

Gone that’s gone before

Spices, dyes, crimson  from Aspen

Old market stalls at the mall today

Saffron, with Shandy make atmospheric chimes

Wandering folk don’t notice; while away the time

Dear diary

Bought some coal today

Me, Mrs Thatcher, and that scary Mr Scargill

Confrontation threatened every altercation

All that’s gone before

That’s all that’s gone before

All gone before

Gone, all gone before

All has gone before

Gone that’s gone before

Reading Maps Is Fun

Knot, intertwining, we’ll meet you later on

Somewhere round the blowing house

Over Norsworthy Plantation way

Dwell, continue, we’ll rest awhile

Beside the pixies house

Together on Yellowmead Down

Rustle, acquiring, we’ll steal our herd our way

Through Woodtown then Furzetor Pass

Twixt here to Sampford Spinney

Dam, earth, buttress; we’ll construct to confine

From the cattle grid to the homesteads

Under the shade of Combestone Tor

Quarry, excavate, we’ll extricate information, to find

A way up Rugglestone Rock, to Seven Lords lands

Before we rendezvous at Widecombe in the Moor

Drink, libation, we will soon be there for prayer

Nearby the weir of Higher Coombe

Falling upon Scorriton, upon Scorriton Chapel

Mill, alcohol still, Benedictine of Buckfast

We’ll make our way into a Cistercian Monastic order

Beside the Butterfly Farm near the Railway Museum
