First Poem of the Day

First poem of the day
Clearer

Than a Capstan full strength
Meaning seemingly

Endless understanding
That first breath

Of intellectual inoculation
That first untainted

Web of words

So so carefully

Interwoven
Woven

More than spoken

Softly lowered

And laid to rest
Better than

The best of stories

Thoughts broken down

With feelings wide open
Awoken to our own

Intrinsic imagination
Blown on the mountains

Of menthol inhalation
Consulate reminders

Of a nicotine past
Thanks, for the first poem of the day

New Poem For Your Return

New poem for your return
Flowers swimming on the breeze
Sunbeams mingle

Jingle in flight across the sky
New poem
Plagued by deconstructive desire
Undone by absence of spirit

Body and soul no longer so strong
New poem
Floating, beaming, weeping willow
Orange blossom full in bloom
Big bright, bright blue sky

Everything of you
New poem
Scattered, shattered thoughts

Slipping like canker
Time without time, without meaning

Without understanding
Broken bonds
New poem
Crystal swings in glory, casting

Rainbow colours in droves
Nature’s curtains hang at ease in waiting
Whilst ladies languor

With their stolen cigarettes

New poem, more love

Drift Wood

One white house
Your memories to unfold
Fisherman’s tales
Told and retold
A lonesome room
On a windswept shore
Children listen
Parents plead for more, for more
Your crevices and cracks
Your driftwood smoking stack
Rhythms and rhymes

Times for laughter into the night
Eyes burning as splinter’s smack
Living alone
Inside your solitary stone
Now painted white
A virgins flight, souls to fright

Was your life
So simple as we surmise
Grilling fish
Sunset, sunrise, no surprise
A simple cloth
Not Cardin or Davidoff
Did you smile
Along the whole five mile
Walking the shoreline
Before the armies came
Was it ever the same
Was it, ever the same
Your stories to unfold
Your history is told and sold
You lie there stark and cold
Within your mind

Are there finer robes of gold

Preamble: The bramble is in bloom

The bramble is in bloom
The yellow gorse

There's yards and yards of it
The rain speckled rambler
Walks, smiling all the way through
This pathway followed by monks of old
Today's story told
Around last centuries newest abbey
Amongst the twisted vines and lavender
In the bookshop, reading of retreats
Buying Aristotle's thoughts on happiness
The gentle people congregate
Smiling eyes, soft-spoken voices
Back on the moors
Back among magnificent vistas
A thousand years
A million miles

The beauty brings alive

The eyes and the ears
The traveller thanks his lucky stars
Nature has many more surprises
The river rises, in a flash spring spate
Meditation in stained glass surrounds
To a backdrop of glory and giving
Being your brother’s keeper
Contributing for continuing living
Sunshine and showers
Photographs of flowers
Reaching peace
Touching love
Being there
Just being
Immersed in adsorption
Feeling, by being alive

Ten; Around Then Anyway

A momentary lapse of…
A reason to believe in dreams
Cobbled stones

Rough-hewn meadow lanes
Summer skies

Children’s joy, butterflies
Bilberry bush, strawberry jam

Birds and bees
Picnics by the big house lake
A fleeting glimpse of…
A season to remember a stinging sense
The cane, caning to care
Wrapped in cotton wool
Playground pranks, slipper and spanks
Education’s cock and bull
A flashing passing of…
An aromatic memory of yesteryear
Tar-macadam steam
Workmen by the brazier
Smelting, melting, snorting, blowing
Machines amortise nature

Blackening the country mile
