Work

old posts and old wire

holding wild grape vines holding

old posts and old wire

Robert Spiess

————————————————

A life

Without the spirituality

Of spiritual work

Tao of Intimacy

The sun glitters

on the path

of a snail

Robert Aitken

————————————————

I too have waited

For the sunlight

To enter my window

Many days elapse

Between one set of words

And the next

Many thoughts

Committed

To other sheets of paper

Some even cast out

Into the ether

In search of their stars

Old Age

autumn wind—

a hair has grown

on my mole

Ryunosuke Akutagawa

————————————————

Impressed

By the physical size

Of the old poet

On the cinema screen

Could I

Would I

Should I

Grow so large, physically

How might my body

Care for

Such a substantial presence

Which helps me to remain grounded

Healing

ebb tide

sandpipers skitter

across her ashes

Jerry Kilbride

————————————————

Firm, glowing skin

A poet’s trip

To the water

At the place

Where the mountain

Might have been

Had there been a mountain

So close to the sea

Where your name flowered

For one day, to live on

Until and beyond this day

Not yet time for ashes

Or to make that final journey

In search of

The poem’s hidden treasure

Where youth and antiquity

Become one

Solitude

closing the gate

alone with the stones

on this beautiful night

Shuoshi Mizuhara

————————————————

My door swings open

Yours also

On brighter days

Let the churchyard alone

Just remember

The lover’s seat

Walk down the steps

To the beach

In the cove

Be aware

Of where you are

Of where you have been
