Most days I would try to write a poem; it is a practice, as I suppose is meditation, or smiling, or watching the world go by

Snuggle
You can tell me as much
Or as little
You can lead to open questions
Or hope for my enquiry
You can talk all open hours
Or scour my conversation
There is no place reservation
Or reserved; all signs say enter
This community is for caring
This community is for sharing
Yes I could hear you so often
Would that I would soften
Or come along with sympathy
Smile long for the journey
Into fresh winds
Under blue skies
Washed with sun & fallen rain
No stains or left luggage
The snug is open
Just to snuggle
Double up on reason
The season free from struggle
As just metaphysically
Metaphorically begun

Two Folds
We've all had insecurity
Found wanting - unsure
Over silly things; lost keys
Forgotten papers, silly things
Over pretty things; fair hair
Swayed hips, pretty things
Over pretty silly things; arguments
Misunderstandings, pretty silly things
We've all tasted insecurity
Unwanted - the dry mouth
Over bigger things; myself
Yourself, ourselves, bigger things
Over barmy things; exasperation
Doubt, despair, bloody barmy things
Over bloody barmy bigger things; love
Love, bloody barmy bigger things called love
We've all shared loves insecurity - silly, really?
Unexplored immunity two up
Two folds
Untold communities

Others Screw
It seems have identified a numbered plot
For why or whatever
How so far away from farmers fields
Or fallen leaves
Or voices, others truth to deceive
Relief unseen
It seems simply for your memory
Or why or whatever
How now today in Freedom Fields
Call on grief
Or choices, others screw to receive

Traps
So in the moment
There in happiness
The wondrous happiness
There so certain in the moment
The certainty that makes me cry
We talked of peak experiences
Of deep explored emotions
Trips of uncertainty
With a sense of surety
Only in the kindness we would find
There may not be the words
Indeed there may be no need for words
Silence, paused in confidence
Held right there
In the hold on happiness
The traps are past memories
Cast dearly with diligence
Today they are insignificant
Imminent danger is so clearly
Fear spent; sent so far away
We stay instead
With words softly read
Across the double bed
Inlaid in lead
With transference
& culpable conversation

Fades to nothing, or eternity
My eyes dance about
Dance behind my eyelids
I have just awoke
From a late afternoon
Power nap
Fell asleep to my own voice
Reading the words
Of Mew & Eliot
& Owen & Thomas
Of farmers & soldiers
& intellectuals
And death
Poets
Why do they
Write their poetry
Surely not
That a century later
We would
Dissect their words
In such a shabby
Crabby way
Or for the sake
Of some
Leftist leaning
Lesbian
Learning
Without a tear
Or cheer
In sight or sound
Maybe though
That is it exactly why
Their eternity is
Tirelessly sought

Beside her past is more
Out in the country
Distant houses
Cared for families
Shared with cost cut
Health authorities
Carers wear their hearts
Upon their sleeves
Or hide under stairways
& stare beyond
The endless sleep
Without maps or categories
They fall beside the wayside
Blindside to the right side
The right wrong
Way to carry on
From here to eternity
The pills & the potions
The calamine lotion
& intravenous injections
Introspection a line too far
She came by car
And tomorrow no fear
She will be here, unclear
For tomorrow
She will be here again
Wait for further information
In case of changed direction
The connection to the ministry
Only just got through
Rate your chances
At best subliminal
To become the
Criminal justice advisor
Besides her past is more
Reflection on the collection
Of the care she's shown
On the collection
Of the care she's known

Open Words
The light is on
I want no more darkness
The music plays
I stray from ambient sounds
The ringing won’t leave my head
I tread quietly for a sense of silence
The wave, the wave ebbs again
I regain the still water
The storm clouds gather over the hills
I chill out for fair weather
The sinking sands are shifting
I drift for lighter landings
The newsprint scatters on the street
I repeat the words of wisdom
The spiritual civic leaders are bare and broken
My token words are here; summarily spoken

Path
Filling spaces
Leaving traces
Leave a path behind
In case someone kind
Some refined soul
Wants to rock and roll

Too many times of parting
Void, devoid of direction
Not even a misconception
Vacuous universes galore
Lay in that churchyard there
Summer Sunday afternoon
Heartache, charting scores
Starting over
Again restarting
All spent; to spend yet more

Zoo Zombie
Just avoid the hurt
Pain held at bay
A zombie for a day
Days & nights to flirt

Hollow Score
All that went before
Is gone
Gone before
Creation crept along
Slipped the sand
From beneath the core
Chapel and church
All that went before
Is gone before
Familiarity swept along
A carpet ride
Over an hollow floor
Mother and Father
All that went before
Gone; is gone before

Gliding
Swell
Over golden pond
Into the mist covered mountains
Footprints finding sanctuary
Almost colliding over water
Gulls wings, open and striding
Slip sliding away
As golden waves ebb and flow

Cosmos
A thousand million
Sparkling tinkling
Waltzing spirits
A never ending chorus
Of pebbles and waves
The zephyr’s blow
Over the Dolomites
Travel with softness
Glide with certainty, my
Migration has also begun
Freshwater havens
Islands of great lakes
Our futures forsaken
Cotton wool clouds
Around sky blue skies
Surrounded by silver tints
Above, a thousand million
Maybe a billion
Sparkling tinkling
Star bright illuminations

Alone is not enough
White board
Wipe away
Move on
Gone
You travel
Across deep synapses
Erase
Erasure
To lose
The loss of saviour
Quarantine
Quarantine or delete
Loosen the links
Disturb the linkages
Open wounds; seal
Slowly heal
Turn to
Find a sense
Find a purpose
To be is not alone enough
Buy some time
Rebuild
Past memories
Work out the why

Lava Java
All what was once forgotten
Used for fuel, to fan the flames
Fortuitous, furniture framed
Ladles of molten metal
Burning streams of lava
All that was once forgotten
Tears apart the troubled mind
Fanciful sweet cure memories
Rose tinted bespectacled
Freckles, trapped in past remains

Eon Ion
Engaged inside empty space
Place, a face without a trace
Nearby to nothingness
Not anything, anything but nothing
Mesmerised, an unusual surmise
Surreal I realise, inside nothing
Orb, shelter from the storm, look back
Looking glass, flecks of imperfect persona
Cutting words, my best friend, descend
Extend the contradiction with diction
Cruel tongues, empty hopeless souls
Mindful to remind, of a rise before a fall
Decorous medals of honour
Upon her brazened tourniquet

Root Slip
Rootless
Reason for grounding
Faithless
Searching and sounding
Doubtless
Nothing to doubt
Careless
Her slip without

Crescent Moon
I don’t know when I lost you
When I lost myself
Beneath the full lit skies
Bathed by clear night scars
I don’t know when you lost me
When we lost ourselves
I post this for those of you still lost
for only yesterday
I appear to have found myself

Je t’aime
There were good times
Excited by expectation
Tilt at the thrill of the chase
Slick and grace
Race for the silk, and for the lace
Then there were better times
Desirous and deliverance
Spilt over the taste
Lose the pace
Dare to mention, misplace
There was exultation
Screamed out loud sensation
Christ don't stop, don’t stop, don’t stop
Love’s sounds of lust
Throb of lead guitar, strum of double bass
